Richard Marks of Sony R&D “We Want It To Be Easy To Jump In And Out Of VR”
Sony is aiming for “presence” with their Project Morpheus VR head mounted display. He took the stage just after Shuhei Yoshida unveiled the headset for the first time. Marks broke down the goals that Sony has for VR in the future. Marks stated,
“We want it to be easy to jump in and out of VR.”
He remarked that for the medium to really take off it has to be ultra approachable. Sony wants you to be able to buy it at the store, bring it home, plug it in, and play. From there, they want you to be able to grab the unit off of your coffee table and jump in and out of VR seamlessly.
