Flappy Bird Creator Won’t Sell, Don’t Ask
Unless you’ve been living under a rock of considerable size, that’s underwater somewhere; you’ve heard of Flappy Bird. The simple, yet immensely challenging game was an overnight success. So much so that the developer, Dong Nguyen, has had to completely change his life to support it,
I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.
Nguyen has been pushed to the breaking point, and in less than one day’s time, he’s removing Flappy Bird from the App Store,
It was recently reported that the dev is making over $50K a day in ad revenue. It’s impossible to say that supporting the community isn’t worth his time. He’s also said he has no plans to sell the app,
This is a bizarre situation at the very least. Maybe Nguyen has made enough money to “call it a day” and return to a simpler life, as he puts it.
