Crackdown 3 Due For Release In 2016, Codename ‘Nimbus’

According to a verified industry insider on popular, and mostly accurate, gaming forum NeoGAF, Crackdown 3 is in development and is set for a tentative 2016 release. The game is supposedly goes by the code name “Nimbus” internally. Microsoft and cloud-based gaming development company Cloudgine are said to be involved. Based on the verified source, the title has been in development for about 2.5 years in total, before the deal with Microsoft was struck.

Former leads from developer Ruffian Games are said to be working on the project, along with former employees of Realtime Worlds, the original Crackdown developer. We’ll update this story if we receive more information.

Probably gonna be MS exclusive. They’ve been getting back all of their exclusives recently and wouldn’t be surprised if they grabbed this up too.

Crackdown is a Microsoft IP, so obviously it’s gonna be an exclusive. You don’t know much

Wow…don’t go out too far on that limb, skippy. /s SMH…

I was believing it until I read NeoGAF as a source. Right then and there you realize it’s pure bull-plop.
I don’t doubt Crackdown 3 will come to the Xbox One because Phil Spencer has hinted at it-worn a Crackdown shirt-talked about it-Crackdown orb at reveal. I just think we’ll see it before 2016. A game in development for over 2 years wouldn’t need over 2 more years to complete.

    • You are flat out wrong

That and Gears 4. Another game you have to wait two years for. No proper Halo this year too. Reasons for getting a Bone before 2015 spiralling into the dirt rapidly.

You might want to check what people are saying then. Halo 2 with a full online mode would attract a ton of people. That game was the fan favorite of the series.
Forza Horizon 2 with weather and day night.
        Quantum Break in November.
Sunset Overdrive in October with a white XB1.

Not sure any of the news or rumors were bad, most just got people even more excited. And when you consider Sony’s 2014 lineup of inFamous and Drive Club, what’s driving people that way at all? I mean we know Titanfall is coming in March to the Xbox One, and probably a full on Titanfall bundle.

Keep hating, and I’ll keep gaming 😉

        • All of the rumors your mentioning are from NeoGAF. The source you just disparaged.

          • You are flat out wrong

All whispers from Neogaf about the Bone are wrong unless they slightly validate a console purchase.

        • You are flat out wrong

Well, it can’t be any worse received than Halo 4’s multiplayer was.

By the way, PS4 also has MLB and The Order and Titanfall is multiplatform. But let’s not let facts get the way of your straw grasping. 🙂
