Epic Games Hints That The Studio Has Several In-Development Games
With the monumental news that Microsoft has acquired the rights to the Gears of War franchise, many were left to question what role Epic Games would have in the industry moving forward. Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 title, Fortnite has been in development for sometime, but we haven’t seen much of the game as of late. Epic’s Wes Phillips assured fans that the studio has a few irons in the fire,
When a Twitter user with the handle of @bigg05 stated he hadn’t anything from Epic in ages, Phillips replied,
@bigg05 @FortniteGame I guess we’ll just have to convince you then. 🙂
It’s true that big business over at Epic is the creation and support of it’s Unreal Engine, and the studio getting rid of it’s only recently released console IP had some wondering what was in the cards moving forward. Phillips boasting multiple irons in the fire is a welcome quasi-update. It remains a mystery what platform Epic’s current projects are targeting. We’re excited to see more from the great studio in the future.
