Nixxes And UFG Ported Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Reason For Differing Framerates?
According to a new announcement, Nixxes (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Tomb Raider) handled the PlayStation 4 version of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. They also assisted United Front Games (Sleeping Dogs) with the Xbox One port. This next part can be found within the announcement,
In addition to converting the game to Playstation 4, Nixxes Software provided support to United Front Games, the developer responsible for the Xbox ONE version of the game.
The reason for differing frame-rates on PS4 and Xbox One has become a bit more clear. It’s possible United Front Games were having trouble optimizing, and Nixxes stepped in to assist. This is by no means confirmed, it’s simply speculation based on the fact that NIxxes worked on both versions. Another possible culprit could be the engineering time needed to implement Kinect voice commands and gesture controls.
Either way, it seems that Nixxes was able to fully optimize Tomb Raider Definitive Edition on PS4, and also help United Front Games on the Xbox One port.
