Titanfall Will Have A Maximum Player Count Of 12 (Alongside AI)

We’ve been wondering what the extent of Titanfall‘s online experience would be. It turns out that sessions will have a maximum player count of 12, alongside an undisclosed number of AI characters. Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment admitted that “6v6 is max player count. Turned out to be the best balance with ai for us.

This is disappointing indeed. Most gamers were likely hoping for large-scale skirmishes. Being that the title is releasing on PC and Xbox One along with Xbox 360, it’s likely that the restriction is due to developing for previous gen hardware. Zampella’s previous FPS giant, Call of Duty supports 18 players total in the Ground War game mode.

Hopefully some information will come to light that justifies this disappointing bit of news. Titanfall is set to release March 11th for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
