Rumor: An Estimate Of GameStop’s Next-Gen Waiting List

Xbox-One-PlayStation-4-Preorder

Since the launch of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we’ve come to know a few things. First off, shortly after the launch of PS4, GameStop reported they had over two million gamers on a waiting list for the console. Secondly, it was announced that Xbox One was the highest selling next-gen console during the Black Friday rush. We also know that both PS4 and Xbox One has sold over two million units each since their release. This next part we didn’t know before this morning.

It’s being reported that GameStop still has lengthy waiting lists for both the PS4 and Xbox One, and we have a rough estimate of just how many gamers are still waiting in line for each console respectively. As of 12/12 GameStop reportedly had 400K people on the waiting list for Xbox One (email addresses to notify). Conversely the retailer claims to have 1.8M waiting to hear about the next restock of PS4. These numbers are in no way confirmed, they were supplied by a user at B3D who’s provided inside information in the past.

Just remember that these aren’t confirmed numbers and they may not represent retail-wide demand for these consoles.
