Valve Files A Trademark For Half-Life 3

Valve has finally done it. After a week of SteamOS, Steam Machines and Steam Controller announcements, the studio has filed for a Half-Life 3 trademark! Nerdgasms are being heard the world over. Is this the console exclusive that will sell the Steam Machine once it launches?

This is huge news for the worldwide gaming community. Half-Life 3 is one of the most talked about dream projects in the gaming industry. There’s no telling whether the studio is simply protecting the name for future use, or for use in the more immediate future.

The filing is listed under two classifications: “Computer game software; electronic game software; downloadable computer game software via global compute network devices; video game software” and “Provision of on-line entertainment; provision of computer and video games and computer and video game programmes from a computer database or via the Internet.”
