Twitch Boasts $20M In New Funding From Investors Like Take Two Interactive
Twitch TV has announced a new cash injection of $20M from various investors. Among the group of new shareholders is Grand Theft Auto V publisher Take Two Interactive. Twitch has been catching steam touting itself as a major eSport streaming destination. Developers have also been utilizing Twitch to stream previews of upcoming games. The Extra-Life charity of which were gearing up to take part in this November, will also be streaming live game feeds of the 25 hour gaming marathon on Twitch.
As of now, Twitch boasts 45 million unique users per month and both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will have native support for the platform built in. Both companies have plans for external recording device support, but the built in video sharing tools share to Twitch.
Twitch is a growing platform with new investors are partnerships occurring more frequently. we’ll keep our eye on the platform to see if there’s any new features that are brought live in anticipation for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch.
