Report – Xbox One May Be Delayed In Some Regions Until 2014

Rumors had been swirling for the past few days that Microsoft may miss several regions with it’s holiday Xbox One launch. Now an anonymous retail source has come forward to a Dutch gaming site stating the Xbox One will not launch in Belgium, the Netherlands, and some Scandinavian countries until 2014. The source cited issues with “translation” as being the culprit.

This may not affect all of Europe, but if this rumor holds water, that’d give Sony‘s PlayStation 4 exclusivity in major European territories until some time in 2014. January and February are typically unattractive launch months as far as consoles go, so that could push the Xbox One launch to sometime in March, or later depending on Microsoft’s motivations.

In our opinion IF there’s a delay in some territories it’d most likely be due to manufacturing rather than translation. Microsoft has been altering it’s Xbox One on a constant basis, and Major Nelson just unboxed one of the first twenty consoles last week.

Microsoft has been questioned for clarification, but they simply answered with their boiler plate response that they don’t comment on rumors and speculation. We’ll keep you up-to-date if we hear anything else.
