Rockstar Toronto Is Hiring For An Open World Game On Next Gen Consoles

A job posting on Rockstar Games Toronto‘s career center shows the studio is seeking an environment artist to begin work on a next gen, open world game. The description for the position reads,

You will be designing, building and texturing the world, have the technical knowledge to achieve great looking results and the skill to get the most from next-gen consoles.

The Playstation 4 and Xbox One will offer developers the power to create open worlds that make today’s iterations pale in comparison. With today’s Grand Theft Auto V gameplay reveal, there’s just no comprehending where R* may be able to take us on machines that are over ten times more powerful than what we currently have.

There’s not telling what game the listing is in reference to, but Rockstar is known for crafting intricate open world games like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. Is it time for Jack Marston to ride again? Are The Warriors going to come out to play? Rockstar Toronto was responsible for The Warriors on the Xbox and Playstation 2, but in more recent years the studio has been put to the task of porting console titles to the PC.

What game do you think R* Toronto is hiring developers for?
