Report: Don Mattrick Could Be Leaving Microsoft To Become CEO Of Zynga
So that’s why he’s pulling all these crazy Xbox One stunts!? Don Mattrick, the President of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, may be hopping the fence over to the Zynga camp. At present, Mattrick is the Xbox ‘boss’ of sorts. He’s been criticized for being a bit insensitive to gamers that had concerns about Xbox One’s ‘always on’ feature (prior to Microsoft’s flip flop that is).
Mattrick may be hanging up his Microsoft socks and picking up a new Zynga themed pair to the tune of CEO. However, Zynga isn’t the first company to attempt to court Mattrick. Games publisher Electronic Arts have also attempted to woo Mattrick when they began head hunting for a new CEO.
Mattrick has done wonders for the Xbox brand and may very well be looking for a new challenge. It’s very possible that he’d leave Microsoft to help a fledgling company regain it’s once resilient market share. One thing is certain. Since this story has hit the interwebs, Zynga’s stock has rose close to 11%.
We’ll update you as this story develops.
