AMD Lands Partnership With EA – All Frostbite 3 Games Optimized For AMD CPU’s, GPU’s
AMD continues to land big gaming partnerships, this time it’s EA and their Frostbite 3 engine. It was announced at this years Electronic Entertainment Expo that all Frostbite 3 driven games will be optimized for AMD CPU’s and GPU’s. This news only compounds AMD’s recent run of success. Earlier this year it was announced that both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One would be using their graphics technology as well. The Wii U is also running on AMD tech, so that’s a clean sweep as far as next gen consoles go.
Optimized games are held in high regard when it comes to the PC platform. If you’re running a game optimized for your setup it boosts game quality and tends to minimize the chance of performance issues. A domino affect seems to be at play here. Crysis 3 and Tomb Raider were some of the first games to jump the Nvidia ship, and offer their games as part of AMD’s Never Settle Bundle.
How do you feel about AMD beginning to take the reigns on CPU, GPU, and graphics card authority with consoles, and now certain PC titles?
