Kiefer Sutherland To Voice Solid Snake In Metal Gear Solid 5

Fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise were horrified to hear that David Hayter wouldn’t be reprising his voice acting role of Solid Snake. In a true wild card move, Hideo Kojima has cast Kiefer Sutherland (24) as a 49 year old Snake.

Sutherland was referred by Avi Arad (Marvel) who stated He (Sutherland) has a, “fantastic, rich voice that maintains a level of mystery,”

Sutherland had this to say, “I’m not a gamer,” he continued, “and I even knew about this game.” and then went on to say, “It’s an honor to be able to play this character,” Sutherland said. “This character has an unbelievable legacy. There’s a real personal quality to the character that I’ve connected to.”

The motion capture on the new proprietary Fox Engine that will power MGS5 was also mentioned. Kojima hopes that having a talented actor in combination with the Fox Engine’s upgraded motion capture will help create a MGS experience like none other.
