Sony Mandates PS Vita Remote Play On Most PlayStation 4 Titles

Sony is requiring all Playstation 4 titles that don’t utilize the PS Eye peripheral to feature the Vita remote play option. This is certainly the best news that Playsation Vita owners have heard in ages. It’s no secret the Vita has been limping along since release, but this news could spur an enormous boost in the handhelds sales. The cross play should see a substantial upgrade due to Sony’s acquisition of GaiKai‘s streaming service.

We knew Sony was going to attempt to incorporate the Vita as a remote play device for the PS4, but this could be a game changer for both the portable and the functionality of Sony’s upcoming home console. This information was confirmed by Shuhei Yoshida, Sony’s president of worldwide studios via Twitter.

We’ll keep you up to date on all the Vita’s cross play applications on the PS4, but in the mean time – do you think this adds real value to the Vita and in turn the Playstation 4? Let us know in the comments below.
