Kickstarter Projects You Should Pay Attention To 10th Edition

kickstarter-projects

Pardon our tardiness. This week has been chock full of Xbox One related happenings. As a result the flood of information has left us in a state of exhaustion. We did happen upon a few fabulous new additions to our first double digit Kickstarter Spotlight article. That’s right, two and a half months worth of great projects that are trying to raise capitol to self publish games that larger publishers, for some reason, won’t touch with a nine foot pole. Which is confounding because, in general, publishers are more open to new ideas at the beginning of a console generation. It’s also looking like indie developers won’t be self publishing to Microsoft’s Xbox One console. So it’s a good thing crowdfunding is alive and well. Let’s clear the dark clouds away with a bit of sunshine. This week we’re all over the place genre-wise with our first MOBA as well as TBS, and side scrolling mayhem.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback – Full Control – Copenhagen, Denmark

LogoJaggedAlliance

The team at Full Control has stated, on many occasions, that their goal is to reconnect with what made Jagged Alliance such a memorable game. They also aim to include additional features that will pack the new installation with content. The team is less than 25k from their goal at the time of this article. If you want to learn more about Jagged Alliance: Flashback check out my interview with Full Control’s CEO Thomas Lund. Head over to Kickstarter to help the team “reset” the long running series.

Tinykeep – Phi Dinh – Newbury, UK

For whatever godforsaken reason Tinykeep remains unfunded. The Kickstarter page is packed with AI and dungeon generation demo’s, screen shots, and British accents! Seriously though this dungeon crawler deserves to raise the cash needed to see the light of day. I had a chance to talk to project creator Phi Dinh about his pet project and he fully elaborated on his inspirations and work that’s been crammed into his Tinykeep. At this point, all I can say is – What the #&$% are you doing!? Fund this game!

Skara: The Blade Remains – 8 Bit Studios – London, UK

Khilma-Khärn-Tamvaasa

The team at 8 Bit Studios has it’s sights set on the PC, next gen consoles (Xbox One? Playstation 4), and mobile devices in regards to it’s MOBA Skara: The Blade Remains. Skara will have a strong focus on multiplayer hand to hand combat. An ambitious and revolutionary concept targets the deep experience of an MMORPG with fast paced first person action, all in a fantasy setting. Combat commands will consist of the four main directions up, down, left, and right. Encounters are reminiscent of a bloody chess match taking place. Head over to 8 Bit’s Kickstarter page to help the Spaniard’s create a new multiplayer experience. Here’s the combat in action in this Alpha build demo, that’s right VIDEO:

Moon Rift – Sam Hutcher – Davis, California

Moon Rift Title1

Moon Rift is true side scrolling, gun collecting, platforming mayhem! An accessible RPG progressions system and limitless amounts of firearms immediately catch our attention. Sam is looking at iOS and Android for the initial release with PC, MAC, and Linux version TBA. I’m a huge fan of 2.5D platformers and the chaos level on display in Moon Rift will likely have me begging for more. Sam has included a playable demo for your previewing pleasure, after your done, kick him some dough on his Kickstarter page.
