President Obama Promotes Video Game Programming Education
President Obama hosted a Google Plus hangout wherein he stated Video Games are a fantastic way to attract young adults and children to Programming.
President Obama called for earlier introduction to computer programming, as early as elementary school in the future. Given the amount of media that’s consumed nowadays, and the exposure kids have to video games and the internet there’s no reason not to embrace it. Use of video games could be a source of inspiration for higher learning.
“I think given how pervasive computers and the internet is now, and how fascinated kids are with it,” The President continues “I want to make sure that they know how to actually produce stuff using computers, and not simply consume stuff.”
